down to business

Monday was the first day of actual recording. I got three songs down and we started a fourth, but it was getting pretty late and Tuesday was really hectic for me school-wise so we left it and went home. Yesterday was my day off from playing drums, which has been nice to give my hands some time to heal a little before I go back in today. I think this is the first time it's been nice to NOT play drums. I always enjoy playing drums, but when there's pain associated with it, you start to enjoy your breaks a little more. All things will pass, though, and I'll be a show-playing machine before you know it.

Jim Allison, the studio owner, is so much fun to work with. He's just as sick and twisted as we are (but don't tell him that), so we can joke around as much as we want and he's prone to some pretty good comments himself. I think Chizzle was gonna come over and hang for a while, but he couldn't make it for some reason. Hopefully he'll be around later this week to hang out while I finish up. The gameplan is to get everything done by Thursday, so we'll see how that goes.

Monday's dinner was the four of us (Jim, Adam, Stacy, and me) at Fiesta Mexicana. It would have been a rather uneventful meal, but when Stacy poured himself a margarita from our pitcher, he got a little surprise when he saw a bug floating at the top of his drink. After waiting for at least 15 minutes for a server to come by , he replaced Stacy's drink and comped (gave it to us for free, sorry for the restaurant lingo) the whole pitcher, which was nice.

I'm hoping for some speedier progress today, but that's all in my hands (in more ways than one).

Peace,
Dan

What are we really recording here?
